The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz invites applications from outstanding candidates for a '''tenure-track Assistant Professor position''' in the broad area of experimental biomedical research, such as biochemistry, biophysics, bioanalytical chemistry, structural biology, enzymology, synthetic biology/metabolic engineering, computational biology, metallobiochemistry and proteomics. Areas of research complementing our existing strengths in protein and nucleic acid structure/function, enzyme activity and design, mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, oncogenesis and other pathologies, and macromolecular spectroscopic analyses are particularly encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to have a commitment to, and talent for, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
