Cancer Research Technology (CRT) is a specialist technology transfer company which develops discoveries arising from Cancer Research UK and worldwide prestigious oncology organisations into potential therapies and diagnostics for the benefit of cancer patients.
 
CRT is seeking to recruit a highly motivated protein scientist/structural biologist to join our X-ray structure determination team. The team is based within the School of Crystallography, Birkbeck College, adjacent to CRT’s Discovery Laboratories within the Wolfson Institute of Biomedical Research, University College London, and has access to state-of-the-art data collection and crystallization facilities.
 
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
 
• Production and characterization of crystallization-grade protein for structural analysis
• Crystallization screening and optimization of protein-ligand complexes
• X-ray data collection and structure determination
 
Applicants should ideally be qualified to PhD level. In addition, you will possess excellent communication and organisation skills, and will be required
to contribute positively to interactive collaborations, which take place not only within CRT, but also with Cancer Research UK laboratories and other external organisations. Previous involvement in projects relating to oncology and experience within a pharmaceutical environment would be desirable. It is not a requirement for you to hold a home office personal licence.
 
This is a permanent position with significant opportunity to influence the development of new cancer therapeutics and will suit a highly talented individual with strong interpersonal skills.
