The GameLab-Wiki is a research database, which addresses the studies of computer games within the scope of the GameLab University of Konstanz. The purpose of this wiki is to bring together, produce, and discuss knowledge, which contributes to the field of academic computer games research. Thereby, it provides a network of information that links observations and insights rather than representing theory or a current state of research it in its completeness.

Furthermore, the platform is also an interactive tool to work within a scientific context. The wiki is intended to enable the exploration of scientific research areas in order to facilitate further work. Therefore, it can be used to collect information for your own work or in order to contribute to the discourse within the wiki itself.

Sections

These sections suggest four levels of access and determine the structure of the site. All topics are interlinked, therefore these sections serve as entry points to start the wiki:

About the Project

The wiki is a collaborative project between students, teachers and researchers. Its development started in a seminar course of the Literature-Art-Media study programme at the University of Konstanz.

All research approaches and listed authors or games make no claim to generality, but display the work process of individual scientific research. It is important to acknowledge, that the wiki structure itself is based on continuous processing and may change in further progression.

The structure of the wiki provides the possibility of continuous contentual development. This possibility of participating and shaping the wiki is given every user who is willing to contribute new topics. In order to ensure a certain level of structural, contentual and stylistic coherence, some Guidelines have been added and can be found within „additional sites“. It is crucially requested that every user willing to add some content consults and accepts these Guidelines in order to maintain a wide-ranging and user-friendly platform.

Before contributing and editing to the wiki, please read the Guidelines.
