BESSY operates one of the world’s most modern synchrotron radiation sources for VUV and soft X-rays, delivering high quality synchrotron radiation to more than 1.300 international users annually. Among other research activities, BESSY in collaboration with the Freie Universität Berlin operates three experimental stations for macromolecular crystallography.

Modern synchrotron based beamline operation requires a persistent quality control of the produced synchrotron beam, which is delivered to the experimental station. Macromolecular crystallography beamlines have an additional demand for a highly available and stable X-ray beam. Therefore we are developing beam diagnostics systems for X-ray beamlines.
