On this page we want to share our way of thinking about game genres. Looking a them not only as a way of mark the style of games, but also as a certain feature a group of games share with each other. Therefore a game can be sorted in more than one genre. The term genre can be associated with the term of the "discourse"[1] following the french philosopher Michel Foucault. He defines a discourse over its own positivity, meaning everything that has been said to a certain topic: "Das Apriori der Positivitäten ist nicht nur das System einer zeitlichen Streuung; es ist selbst ein transformierbares Ganzes."[2] A discourse and thus also a genre can change their meaning over time. Through certain degrees of disruption new genres can evolve. The figure of the "parasite"[3] becomes productive for that kind of thinking with the interference.
